This groundbreaking design was described by the chair of the Jury as ‘the future of silversmithing’. Turning modern silversmithing into an audacious art form, the silver balloons hold a unique place in contemporary silversmithing. A solid silver full-sized balloon appears to be tugging at the silver and stainless steel string trying to take flight, but being resisted by its anchor, in this case, a beautiful piece of distressed antique marble.

The paradox between materials and human imagination plays out at its fullest with these pieces and examples of this design sit in well known international collections and has been exhibited widely in the UK and overseas.
